25th August, 2008- I began a plan for the website. I draw a grid structure that showed all the content pages of the site.
9th September, 2008- I wrote about my initial proposal for the website on my blog.
16th September, 2008- i received comments from my lecturer in class and my blog asking for more information in the proposal, which iI worked on that night.
19th September, 2008- i began to do the actual website, i.e working on the index page.
30th October, 2008- I had a few questions for the lecturer about the site which he helped me with.
20th October, 2008- created the four main pages so far, but having to create the sub-pages. I had to ask Dr. Ken for assistance tomorrow. But otherwise, I am almost done.
21st October, 2008- Dr. Ken helped me solve my problem and I finished up my website that same night.
I should be able to hand in soon.

Softwares used
To design this site, I used Adobe Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver. Adobe Dreamweaver assisted in designing the layout of all the pages while Adobe Flash helped me design the Introduction page (splash screen). Its supposed to be for 20 seconds and one can skip it and go straight to the home page.
With this page, i picked the elephants, the Ugandan flag and company name, hence when one clicks the site, it shows a sign of tourism (wildlife) and which country precisely.

WEBSITE DESIGN
The homepage talks about Uganda, the people and the cultures. Few pictures are added in to brighten the page and illustrate.
the slogan (experience the beauty of uganda with us), bascially tells the viewers of the website that the company has a passion for adventure and not just to make money.
For the colours, I had intended to use colours of the uganda flag i.e red, yellow and black, but since my page is white, yellow would not be noticed, so instead of yellow, I picked green (it presents uganda's vegetation).

Intial proposal for a website
Introduction
A web site is designed to help a business market themselves and increase sales. Business requirements document the business functions that the web site will support. They do not necessarily document the functions the web site should have, but instead enable an analyst to determine what parts of these business functions can be made available through the web site.
This website is going to promote the company, grow awareness, and provide related service links. The demographic shows that people age 25 and above are our main target audience, which consists the majority of coupled customers(70%), and students on field trips take up 20% while the adventure spirited people take up 10%. Having to say that, this website will be more nature-passion design for those who are so into nature and adventure.
Demographic :
Age 25 and above.
Couples(70%)
students(20%)
nature spirited people(10%) From time to time, this blog shows updates and how many people are checking out the blog. At the moment, they are 60% mlaes and 40% females. Majority are from Malaysia.
Complexity :
We have 3 main links in the index page. The 3 buttons are Home, Services, and Contacts. The Services link will provide sub-links to all of our grooming services the company is providing.
Team member : Rita ( 1072300022 )

(3) Poll was privided to gain customer's feedback for improvements, and see how many people open the site.
(4) Contact page just provides you with the address phone numbers.
(5) Service page shows you the services we provide.
(6) About us tells you where the company is located, its address and what it does.
This site is for a tour and travel company/agency that will be providing services such as; accomodation services from different hotels in uganda, wildlife sites, camping sites, resorts.
Colour for the website will be white with a few bright colours such as red. Since it will be a tour and travel company, customers can book accomodation, tickets for and to the destinations they place online.

A Commercial and Poster for the company (Uganda Tourism Association)
Although it is a school project, I had to do it with passion. The previous week, we had learnt how to use Adobe Premire Pro which would assist us in video creation. It was a really interesting lesson that day, playing with sound and image. To produce a clear commercial for my company (Uganda Tourism Association) and a poster, I decided to download images on Uganda from google, i.e. every thing that is fascinating in Uganda, such as, the wildlife, the cultures, the nature and much more.
I also had to download some audio clips using a software called Ares 2.09.3030. I then downloaded jungle sounds such as birds, lions, etc and some African drums. Choosing the right sound for this video was kind of frustrating because I had to test all sounds before I chose the final one that gets my full attention, but in the end I liked what I had done. I also have to upload it to Youtube. This video is a taste of my motherland, and I am proud to be Ugandan.
But first, let's take a look at the poster I created using Adobe Photoshop CS2 software. Basically, I choose the colours of the Ugandan flag and one very interesting animal, the gorilla. I also had to include a logo for my company, which was also created using Adobe Photoshop CS2. Effects were added to make the poster more appealing and I choose to also make it A3 portrait. I love simplicity in design so the design for the poster is actually something simple, hence making it unique. The video is really fascinating!!

A GLIMPSE OF UGANDA'S NATURE
I can not get enough of the beautiful nature of Uganda. Hope this slideshow will inspire my blog viewers. SEE AND LOVE THE BEAUTY!!
Inspiration from Dr. Ken
After a whole week of illness and loss of my laptop, i went to class on 15th May, 2008, my lecturer for I.T and Multimedia, Dr. Ken, told me how he loves my blog but would appreciate if i wrote down my updates. I have actually already started another blog about my mother's boutique back home thinking that my blog was not all that, but Dr. Ken told me how interesting it is and that I should not quit but improve it.
And now when I look at my blog, I love it even the more.

Looking at my blog, am still not pleased and satisfied. My actual dream is to have the world love and treasure wildlife like how they long for rain in the desert. In Uganda, the wildlife is decraesing and that because of the poachers. If there was only a way to stop them and make them understand that animals too want to live. Try to put yourself in an elephant,s shoes and feel the pain when its killed, its tasks removed while its young watches.
I may be doing this blog to get some excellence in class, but deep down I am doing this topic with enthusiasm and hope to change the way people treat the nature already us.

WHY TOURISM
As a child, I had always had this crazy passion for creatures and watching over them. Seeing a goat being slaughtered would bring me to tears. I still remember picking a stray kitten from a bush near school and taking it home. I got home all excited to show my mum what i had found, but she screamed saying its not a kitten, its a young of a tiger(cub). She then got rid of it that night without my knowledge. I was very upset when i found out.
I began to have dreams that it would grow into a tiger and come back to me!!

It is obvious that i love nature especially the wildlife. But that me tell you a little about where i come from. It's a place in western Uganda called Mbarara, believed to be the land of milk and honey. This area too has a national park, with some of the amazing wildlife ever.
Lake Mburo National Park is situated between Masaka and Mbarara, 420km south west of Kampala (3.4 hour drive). It is one of the more popular and small parks covering an area of 256 sq km, it’s normally visited because it’s near the city. It’s mainly made up of grassland, wetland and acacia woodland. At the center lies the Lake Mburo, which together with 14 other lakes, forms part of an extensive wetland area.
The open valley on the western side of the game offers the best game viewing opportunities, with huge array of flora and fauna, large herds of elephants and buffalo, eland, rock hyrax, zebra, waterbuck, buffalo, warthog, leopard, civet, hyena, hippo, and crocodile, large variety of antelope including the rare Impala. It is the perfect destinations for ornithologists. There are also over 357 species of birds including the marabou stock, the crested crane, Bronze-tailed starling, and bee-eaters. These mainly park around the lakes.

Uganda, found in East Africa, is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It also offers world-class white water rafting at the source of nile and some of the region's more peaceful national parks, where wildlife viewing doesnt involve long waits in line behind a dozen or more vehicles.
The sites from the highest mountain range in Africa, the Rwenzori Mountains;one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world, Murchison Falls; or perhaps the highest primate density in the world, in kabale forest National park and many more attractive sites make the country breath taking.
